Publisher Sales Lead — US/UK

Refinery89 · Madrid, Spain (Hybrid) · Publisher Success · Senior Level

Refinery89 is looking for a seasoned Publisher Sales Lead to own and grow our presence across US and UK markets. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who thrives in consultative sales, commands room in executive conversations, and brings a proven network of publisher relationships to the table. If you're ready to take full ownership of a high-value territory and drive real revenue impact, we want to hear from you.

About Refinery89

Refinery89 is a Dutch AdTech company headquartered in Madrid, working with premium publishers worldwide to optimize programmatic advertising performance. Through advanced, data-driven technology, Refinery89 helps publishers increase revenue, improve efficiency, and gain greater transparency across their monetization stack.

The company operates with an international, highly specialized team focused on delivering measurable results, operational excellence, and long-term partnerships in an evolving digital advertising ecosystem.

What You'll Do

• Own the full sales cycle for US and UK publisher acquisition — from strategic prospecting through to contract close.

• Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline with clear prioritization toward highest-value, long-term partnerships.

• Lead market expansion efforts across US and UK, coordinating closely with sales, product, and ad operations teams.

• Act as a trusted senior advisor to publisher partners, developing relationships at the C-suite and VP level.

• Define and execute territory strategy, including competitive positioning, pricing recommendations, and market intelligence.

• Mentor junior SDR and sales colleagues; serve as a market knowledge resource for the wider Publisher Success team.

• Maintain meticulous CRM hygiene — logging all interactions and pipeline movements with precision.

• Represent Refinery89 at key industry events, conferences, and networking forums across the US and UK.

Who We're Looking For

• A senior sales professional with 5+ years of experience in publisher-facing or media sales roles, ideally within AdTech, SSP, ad network, or programmatic ecosystem.

• Demonstrated track record of closing complex, high-value deals and consistently exceeding quarterly revenue targets.

• Native or near-native English speaker with exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to hold board-level conversations with confidence.

• Deep understanding of programmatic advertising, header bidding, monetization stack architecture, and publisher economics.

• An established network of contacts within US and/or UK digital publishing — existing relationships that can be activated from day one.

• Self-directed and strategic: able to build a territory plan, operate autonomously, and drive initiatives without heavy oversight.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international scale-up environment where agility and accountability go hand in hand.

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Prior experience at an AdTech company, SSP, Publisher Sales House, Trading Desk, or premium digital agency.

• Existing C-level or VP-level relationships at major US/UK digital publishers or media groups.

• Familiarity with monetization technologies such as Prebid, GAM, Amazon TAM, or equivalent.

• Experience working cross-functionally with technical and operational teams to onboard complex publisher integrations.

• History of building and scaling a sales territory from the ground up.

What You Can Expect from Us

• Competitive senior-level base compensation plus an uncapped commission and bonus structure.

• 25 holidays per year, your own new equipment, and weekly Friday afternoons off.

• 40-day Work From Home policy.

• A prime workspace in the heart of Madrid (Cuatro Caminos), in our newly refurbished 800m² offices.

• A genuinely international team — collaborative, direct, and free of unnecessary hierarchy.

• The autonomy and trust that comes with a Dutch workplace culture: casual dress, flat structure, clear feedback, and radical efficiency.

• Real scope to shape the US/UK go-to-market strategy and leave a lasting mark on Refinery89's growth trajectory.
