Demand Partnerships Manager

Location: Madrid (Onsite) Team: AdTech Partnerships

About the role

This is an early-career opportunity — ideal as a first or second role in AdTech. We expect up to ~2 years of experience and care far more about commercial instinct, analytical ability and drive than about a long CV. If you're ambitious and want to learn fast, we'll give you real ownership from day one.

At Refinery89, we help publishers significantly improve the quality, scale, innovation and monetisation of their ad inventory in an increasingly complex digital ecosystem. The backbone of our success is our people and our award-winning technology, which gives publishers a clear competitive advantage. We're a highly professional team in a phase of active growth, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

The Demand Partnerships Manager plays a key role within Refinery89's AdTech Partnerships team, supporting the commercial growth and performance of our demand partner network. This is not just a coordination role. You'll work closely with SSPs and other monetisation partners to unlock revenue opportunities, improve partner performance across our network of 800+ websites, and help strengthen and expand our AdTech partnerships.

You'll combine relationship management, commercial thinking, technical coordination and data analysis to help maximise monetisation results across the network.

Your responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with demand partners, with a clear focus on driving revenue growth and performance.

  • Support the onboarding and implementation of demand partners on new publisher websites, and roll out new monetisation opportunities across our network.

  • Work closely with partners to identify growth opportunities, unlock additional spend and improve commercial results.

  • Monitor partner performance and proactively identify revenue trends, underperformance and upside opportunities.

  • Participate in QBRs and performance reviews with SSPs and other monetisation partners, helping turn discussions into actionable growth plans.

  • Analyse data to identify yield, fill rate, CPM and revenue improvement opportunities within our stack.

  • Coordinate with technical and operations teams to troubleshoot issues impacting partner performance or revenue delivery.

  • Support commercial discussions with data-driven insights and a strong understanding of partner value and business impact.

What you need

  • Up to ~2 years of work experience, ideally in digital media, adtech, online advertising, account management, partner management, ad ops or a commercially focused operations role — or a recent graduate with a strong interest in the space.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into insights and insights into commercial opportunities. Good working knowledge of Excel.

  • Very high level of English, with the ability to confidently follow internal discussions and communicate clearly with external partners.

  • A clear commercial mindset and genuine interest in technology, digital advertising and online monetisation.

  • A confident communicator who can engage with partners and move conversations towards action and results.

  • Strong attention to detail, ownership and a proactive, autonomous way of working — and the ambition to grow in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem, formats, KPIs and technologies such as header bidding, SSPs, Prebid, Amazon TAM and Google Open Bidding.

  • Experience working with SSPs such as Xandr, Seedtag, Outbrain, Magnite or GumGum.

  • Experience with Google Data Studio, Power BI or similar reporting tools.

  • Experience in ad ops or yield optimisation, especially within a header bidding setup.

  • Experience working with partners, clients or external stakeholders in a performance-driven environment.
